Master Chief Collection glitch unlocks all items for players

The newest content update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection has arrived, and adds a new map to the selection of Halo 2: Anniversary maps available, and support for the Halo 3: ODST DLC. With the update, also come new emblems and avatars, to customise your profile’s online presence. This appears to have introduced a new bug, which allows players to select any of the locked items, and save it to their player.

This glitch can allow you to equip all the nameplates and avatars within the game, with no prerequisites completed. This sadly breaks one of the only customisation features within the title. This is a nice find, which can be credited to Rhys Weir on Twitter. This glitch is extremely simple to perform, and requires no previous unlocks.

Here is how to perform the glitch:

  • Open the ‘Player ID’ tab, from the main menu.
  • Find the Nameplate/Avatar you would like to equip, and hit the ‘A’ button repeatedly a few times.
  • Back out to the main menu, and the change should have applied.

The item should now be equipped, and will be saved to your account. This is then viewable by other players, and even visible on your Service Record. We recorded a video below, to show this glitch in action:
