According to marketing research firm ScribbleLive, Microsoft is more influential among the gaming industry than Sony and other companies. The company analyzed data involving the top influencers among companies. SegmentNext, who reported the story, said that the research site analyzed over 100 million sources using the ScribbleLive Insights application. They range from news, blogs and social media to determine an influence score based on the reactions from people.
In terms of top gaming brands, Microsoft was on top with an influence score of 1022. Sony came in second with 930 points. ScribbleLive also analyzed the PlayStation brand separately and determined that it only amounted to 407 points. Additionally, the firm examined virtual reality devices and determined that Oculus Rift was the most sought after product in the market. Microsoft’s enigmatic HoloLens platform came in second. That’s a surprise to me because I was certain PlayStation VR would occupy that spot or maybe upcoming platforms by Valve. It’s great to see HoloLens already has so much influence before we have concrete details about it.
