Microsoft officially unveils new Surface Laptop

After an unfortunate leak yesterday ahead of Microsoft’s New York City event, the company has officially unveiled the Surface Laptop. The new device is designed to run Windows 10 S, Microsoft’s answer to Google’s Chrome OS also fully revealed at the event.

The 13.5-inch display “is the thinnest LDC touch model every created and put into a laptop,” according to Panos Panay. Like other Microsoft devices, it supports the Surface Pen.

Boasting a 14.5-hour battery life with the help of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, the Surface Laptop has all of the power to get people through their days at work and school. To keep it cool through heavy use, the Surface Laptop utilizes integrated vapor chambers.

The Surface Laptop will start at $999 and is available for preorder today. It will begin shipping on June 15.
