There are a bunch of indie games coming out this year but we decided to highlight a few specific ones that really peaked our interest and we think might interest you as well.
Axiom Verge
Tom Happ, the sole developer of Axiom Verge, announced today that the 2D Metroid styled game Axiom Verge will be coming to Xbox One. The story for the game is amazing and has some phenomenal twists to it that will leave you guessing until the end. It also is beautifully challenging and immerses you into the world almost immediately and refuses to hold your hand through it. There are over 20 unique weapons for the game and is filled with options on how you would like to play through the levels.
With over 5 years of work on this game, it is easily worth it and I am very excited to see this game coming to Xbox One later this year.
Kyub
Kyub was announced at the Microsoft Daikanshasai event in Tokyo last year and it looks absolutely beautiful. It is a 3D puzzler and honestly it’s art was enough to sell me on this game but luckily that isn’t the only thing it has going for it as it also has a ton of unique and challenging puzzles that make you think but also pushes you to try to do it as fast as you can. It also has a great amount of content with more than 80 stages which should supply you with more than enough content to last. We don’t have an exact release date on the game but we do know it will be launching in 2016 for Xbox One so keep on the lookout.
This game is absolutely beautiful and should offer both a challenging and fun experience that I can’t wait to get my hands on.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
Daedalic Entertainment and Mimimi Productions announced at this year’s game developers conference in San Francisco that they would be working on a game with real time tactics and stealth elements called Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. The game takes place in the Edo period of ancient Japan during the time of shoguns, ninjas and samurai. A new Shogun is put into power and wants to make peace throughout Japan and recruits five extremely talented people with different skills for the task. You will use these characters to take on your missions in different approaches whether it be with stealth or an all-out fight. It has been announced to be launching later this year for Xbox One.
This game looks really well done and could easily turn out amazing if done correctly and they are definitely on the right track.
These indie developers are working hard with Xbox to deliver some awesome games that you should definitely watch out for in the future.
