If you’re currently playing backwards compatible Xbox 360 games on Xbox One, you might have to download some titles again. Speaking on the official Xbox One preview forum, a member of the Xbox team detailed a list of games that will require reinstallation due to some changes to the Xbox One OS.
The post is as follows:
Thank you for participating in the Xbox One Preview program and helping us test Backward Compatibility! We’ve received great feedback from participants thus far and are working hard on several improvements to the experience.
We’d like to let you know about an upcoming change that will require action on your part. If you have installed any of the titles listed below, please read on for info on how to keep playing:
1.Viva Piñata
2.Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise
3.Perfect Dark
4.Perfect Dark Zero
5.Kameo: Elements of Power
6.Jetpac Refuelled
7.Banjo-Kazooie
8.Banjo-Tooie
If you have any of these titles, you’ll need to uninstall and reinstall the title to continue playing.
For assistance uninstalling titles, please refer to (http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/downloadable-content/uninstall-content) on Xbox Support. Once you’ve uninstalled the title, you can reinstall it from My games & apps > Games > Ready to Install.
Note: Reinstalling a title won’t impact its Xbox 360 saves.
What’s interesting is that all the games on the list are Rare titles that will also be available in the Rare Replay collection coming out early next month. Maybe the need to reinstall them has something to do with that? Either ways, if you own any of these titles, be sure to download them again on your Xbox One after uninstalling the original. Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise was a free Games with Gold title a few months ago so I’m sure many Xbox One owners will be reinstalling that one.
