During an interview with 4gamer.net, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that the Dark Souls developer, FromSoftware, was working on three new internal projects. The interview, which was translated by Neogaf, offered some insights into what the studio was working on after the blockbuster launch of Dark Souls 3.
Miyazaki announced that the studio was working on a reboot of an old franchise, rumoured by some to be a new Armored Core title, a Mech Armour game, which falls in the Mech Assault type genre. The game might also take on the Titanfall genre, but it’s too early to start speculating.
Miyazaki also announced that the studio will work on something ‘completely fresh’. The studio is famous for its dark stories, from Dark Souls and Bloodborne, which always stays within the horror third person genre. Seeing the studio take on something different might bring different gamers to experience their games, and will give us a glimpse at what the studio is capable of.
