Crackdown 3 blew us away with its reveal and new details regarding the game keep coming in. Earlier this week, Regent said total destructibility would only be possible in multiplayer as it ensures a connection to the internet. If you play offline, you will experience some destruction but the experience will be more about navigating the environment and gathering collectibles.
However, this is where it gets interesting. The developer recently stated that only the multiplayer component of Crackdown 3 will be available in summer 2016. This is probably due to the fact that Microsoft wants to keep players busy with the game until Regent can create an awesome single-player campaign.
Recently Microsoft stated that first-party games would be coming to Xbox Game Preview. No other details were revealed. My guess is that Crackdown 3 will release as an early access game in summer 2016 and the single-player components will be added to it later. I would bet a significant sum on this prediction.
