The much-anticipated gameplay reveal for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is set for today’s EA Play event, in addition to other highlights and surprises. It’s rumored that BioWare’s secret project Dylan will make an appearance as well. Whatever is announced, this page will contain everything you need to know from the briefing to get you caught up.
Madden NFL 18
A new trailer for Madden NFL 18 premiered with a story mode.
Battlefield 1
It was announced that Battlefield 1 is being played by more than 20 million players. Night maps will debut this summer. We received a first look at In the Name of the Tsar, an expansion launching this September with eight new maps bringing players to the Eastern Front.
FIFA 18
EA Sports released a new trailer for FIFA 18.
Need for Speed Payback
Need for Speed Payback will feature the most diverse world ever created for a Need for Speed game. Customization will play a big role in it. A new gameplay mission was showcased.
EA Originals
EA will be publishing a new game by the makers behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The split-screen co-op adventure, A Way Out, received its first trailer. The characters will have unique personalities and goals, and it aims for players to go through an emotional journey together. Missions can be approached in a variety of ways depending on which character you are playing as. It is set to release early 2018.
Anthem
BioWare debuted their rumored new IP. A full reveal will happen tomorrow during Xbox’s press conference.
NBA Live 18
NBA Live 18 received a short reveal trailer.
SEED
EA talked about their internal division focused on creating new experiences with advanced technology. The company specifically praised Microsoft’s Project Scorpio for its ability to render 4K visuals as shown in stunning Madden NFL 18 images.
EA Access
EA Access and Origins Access will be free for one week.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be much bigger than the previous title with more than 3x the amount of content. Its story mode, as previously announced, will bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Influencers visited the developer to provide feedback on the game.
John Boyega announced that Finn and Captain Phasma will be playable characters free of charge as part of free seasons of content. All post launch DLC maps, modes, and characters will now be free.
DICE revealed that they’ve redone some of the mechanics from the first game. Battle Points will now replace the Tokens found on maps previously, so earning more points by playing the objective will unlock quicker access to Heroes and vehicles.
