MEET THE GAMER: NGyaiiber

What is your Gamertag and the reason for choosing it?

Hello! My name is NGyaiiber! I chose my gamertag based on two things. The NG stands for Nice Guy and the rest came from a misunderstanding. I love anime and when I was younger, I was watching an anime called Case Closed (Detective Conan in Japan). There was a scene where one of the characters, a little girl, got really excited about a superhero named Mask Yaiba. I heard it as Yaiber, and ever since then, I thought it was the coolest thing and associated my own usernames with that. I put the two together and that’s where I got my gamertag.

What is your favourite genre/s of game and why?

My favorite genre of game has to be JRPGs. I’m a sucker for the underdog heroes trying to save the world from evil. Plus after spending 50+ hours in a good one, I can’t help but feel personally invested and associated into the world and with the characters. MMOs are fun too.

What is your favourite game so far? (Doesn’t need to be an Xbox title!)

My favorite game so far would have to be Ni No Kuni on the PS3. What made it so great was just how much emotion was involved in the story. Cheering people up and healing hearts; that’s what I loved about it.

What is your most memorable gaming moment?

I can’t decide on most memorable. I’ve had too many of them but I will say a lot of my best times were playing Call of Duty MW1 and WaW with my gold group of friends. Shout out to ipigaru25, Th1sGUY808, envj88, Budders 67, Faceles, and Nino! More recently, winning in Smite with Gantz27 & Drewb33.

Which achievement has been the most frustrating to obtain? How long did it take you?

Most frustrating achievement would be the Call of Duty zombies Easter egg achievements. I’m not sure how long it took my friends and I to accomplish them, but when you try so hard and fail, it does take a toll on the morale.

What is your gamerscore and how long has it taken you to get it?

My Gamerscore is 50,304! It’s taken me over four years to accumulate this much. I could have more but I don’t really achievement hunt and when it comes to gaming; if it’s not an RPG, I won’t touch story mode. Unless it’s with friends! I’m all about that multiplayer life!

What is your gaming guilty pleasure?

Easy! Peggle! If you haven’t Peggle’d, I would recommend you do so – It’s addictive!

If you could pick a video game character, who would you be and why?

I would probably go with Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon series. I’d barely age, have the best companions ever and go on amazing adventures every day!

If you could pick a location, from any game, to visit, where would it be and why?

The world of Pokémon or any Final Fantasy world, preferably FFXIV: ARR.

Finally, where do you see gaming heading in the next decade?

I see gaming heading toward a positive in the next decade. I see less people believing video games cause violence and more people believing video games spark imagination, creativity and new ways to think. With virtual reality possibly coming into the scene, I can only believe it’ll be like Sword Art Online! I’d love to try being in a totally immersive RPG.
