Mojang recently announced Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition and anyone who purchased the Windows and Mac version can get this new edition for free. Mojang detailed the process of obtaining a Windows 10 Edition key today. Customers need to log into their account on Mojang’s website, click the redeem button, sign into the Windows Store, and claim their free copy.
Windows 10 is required to play this version of the game. Considering that Windows 10 is a free upgrade, that’s a pretty good deal for existing customers. Even if you don’t own Minecraft, the Windows 10 Edition is available for purchase for $9.99 during the beta. The beta will update to the final version of the game and get new content in the future. The Windows 10 Edition offers numerous control types depending on the device you’re on. I can’t wait to see how this version evolves in the coming months and years.
