According to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, an announcement regarding universal Windows apps for Xbox One should be coming later this month. A number of apps will debut alongside the announcement. According to these sources who spoke with The Verge, these announcements will take place at Microsoft’s Build conference in San Francisco on March 30.
Phil Spencer said on Twitter, “We will discuss our next steps with the Universal Windows Platform at //build later this month.” If nothing, new universal apps for Xbox One should be announced at this event for a future release. A leak on Reddit may have revealed some of the apps and games that could be universal on Windows 10 and Xbox One. What’s interesting on the list is the presence of games like Scalebound and Xbox Fitness. Will these two games be coming to Windows 10? It seems like it. Titles like Fable Legends, Quantum Break and ReCore are listed on there and the presence of Scalebound confirms that the game will be coming to Windows 10. However, as with any such information that isn’t confirmed, take this with a grain of salt until we have official confirmation from Microsoft.
You might be wondering why iOS games are listed on there. Well, let me tell you. Microsoft is working on a project that allows developers to easily port their iOS games to Windows platforms so their presence makes sense. To me it seems like a legitimate leak that reveals upcoming universal apps or at least programs that will be available on all platforms. We’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out.
