Microsoft launches universal app store for Windows 10 early

When Windows 10 launches on July 29th, many users will be able to take advantage of the new Windows universal apps. Later on, this fall, Windows 10 will begin to appear on even more devices, which will all support these applications. The universal application architecture across platforms allows these apps to be compatible with most Windows 10 devices.

Today the new Windows store has begun to roll out worldwide; however some regions still only have access to the previous storefront. It still appears that not all assets are in place, as some links redirect to older pages. Currently the web store has a clean user interface, promoting Windows apps across all devices on a top banner.

Right now when you are on a specific app’s page, it lists which range of devices are compatible with the app. Many are exclusive to one platform at this point in time, however more services will offer universal support when Windows 10 releases at the end of the month.

For those who wish to browse the new store, it is now available here.
