Xbox One now backwards compatible with Xbox 360

During Microsoft press event, Microsoft stunned the gaming community and announced that the Xbox One is now backwards compatible. Preview members will gain the feature today with everyone else receiving it later this year. The company revealed that a number of Xbox 360 games would be available to download on Xbox One starting today. Hundreds of Xbox 360 titles will be added every month. As of now, 21 Xbox 360 games are available on Xbox One including the beloved Mass Effect.

The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compat game catalog will automatically show up in the Ready to Install section on your Xbox One. For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, simply insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has finished downloading, you will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play.
