No Man’s Sky may come to Xbox One implies Sean Murray

Update: Datamined files from No Man’s Sky contain an Xbox One reference. The game contains files that make an Xbox One port possible.

After countless delays and a huge amount of Sony-funding marketing, Hello Games’ survival-space game, No Man’s Sky, has only just launched as a PS4 console exclusive (the game is also available on PC through Steam). Although PS4 owners may be able to play the game right now, the exclusivity of this title has been pulled into question.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Sean Murray of Hello Games was asked whether the timed exclusive game would ever come to Xbox One to which he replied that he wasn’t sure what he and Hello Games were “actually allowed to say” and that he must be “very specific with my words” when talking about No Man’s Sky’s exclusivity.

According to the Daily Star, “Sony’s rep stepped in to move the interview along, explaining that at this time there was nothing more to add”. The interruption of the Sony representative, as well as Murray’s absence of denial, probably points to a very likely Xbox One release of No Man’s Sky in the future. Even if No Man’s Sky does eventually come to Xbox One, for now, we have no idea how long the timed console exclusivity will last on Sony’s hardware.
