Update: Polygon uncovered some marketing material from GameStop which confirms that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be called Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. It will star an assassin by the name of Jacob Frye.
After the initial reveal yesterday, sources are beginning to report that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title may have undergone a name change. According to leaks late last year, the reveal for the next iteration of the franchise would take place on May 12th, and after the teaser released yesterday, this has been confirmed. This now leads us to believe that the second part of the leak, which details a rebrand, will also be true. If this rebrand has occurred, the next release of the franchise will be named Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
To find out officially, we will have to wait until the reveal taking place at 5PM BST on Tuesday 12th May. We should expect to find out more details on its 19th Century London premise, and possibly a look at gameplay.
