Future Battlefield 4 content will be free for everyone

Since launch, Battlefield 4 players have been treated to a variety of expansions, adding new maps to the multiplayer experience. With the final DLC having released, content is still due to release, however with no price tag indicated.

Today developer of Battlefield 4, DICE, confirmed that all upcoming content and updates will be free for all players. David Sirland, producer at DICE Los Angeles announced that both premium and non-premium members can expect to have access to these features.

Although not all details have been released, we can expect many new additions to the core game over the coming months, leading into the release of the next Battlefield game. In spring, players will receive the gun master gametype, similar to the gamemode introduced in Battlefield 3, bringing 4 new weapons for players to use. We have also been given details on night maps, which are variants of existing maps, with a change in lighting/time of day.

The final, major release is the free community map due to release in summer, which has been reported to be a remake of a ‘classic’.

Even with the release of Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 4 players are in for a treat over the coming months. With no DLC announced for Hardline currently, it is strange to see such large support for the previous release. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
