A Kickstarter for a new Word War II shooter game titled Days of War has launched with a goal of $100,000. The project has 27 days to reach its goal on March 30.
Days of War will be an online shooter and uses Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. Studio Driven Arts “aims to revive the style of classic WW2 shooters from the 2000-2010 era.” That was a popular style with older Call of Duty titles, Battlefield, and Sniper Elite. Recently there has been the successful Kickstarter for another World War II shooter, Battalion 1944. There is definitely a market for more games like Days of War, and Driven Arts wants to capitalize on the demand.
The studio wants to deliver the best possible gameplay and community, and to do so they will constantly listen to the players and their feedback. Days of War wants to offer support for modded and player content. Modding seems to keep many games alive nowadays, with thriving communities even if the games are several years old.
Days of War advertises that it will have immersive gameplay and environments, class-based combat, and a lot of variety. Driven Arts has team members who have worked on series such as Dead Island, Batman Arkham, and The Witcher, so you can see that they have experience working on games.
If you pledge $99, you can take part in the game’s PC Alpha in April. For $59, you will have entrance to the PC Beta in June. All pledges of $29 or more will get a digital download of the game.
Driven Arts is aiming to launch Days of War in 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
If this seems like the type of game you are interested in, you can pledge at least $5 or more on their Kickstarter page.
