Thanks to Reddit user F0REM4N, we now know that the Xbox Live Arcade version of Doom may be heading to Xbox One. F0REM4N posted on the Xbox One subreddit that he had successfully downloaded the game and also provided a picture for proof, which you can see here.
It should be noted that F0REM4N thought this was odd because Xbox Head Phil Spencer has gone on record stating that the list of backward compatible titles will not change until the NXOE is released to the public, which is planned for sometime next month in November.
Many other Reddit users who have the NXOE as well were also chiming into the discussion by saying that they do not have the ability to download Doom yet. It seems that this is something that is only happening to a select number of individuals, and the reasons for that are still unknown.
It’s always possible that while it may have just showed up early for a certain number of people, it could also start showing up for everyone else as well, so it may be wise if you’re a preview member to continue checking your downloads and see if it shows up for you.
Bethesda has already stated that Fallout 3 would be coming to Xbox One via backwards compatibility, so it makes sense that another one of their games would be added to the list, especially because the new Doom reboot is set to be released sometime in 2016.
