One of this year’s most highly anticipated titles, Halo 5: Guardians, will be releasing very soon and we are starting to get some details about some new weapons that you can earn in the new multiplayer game mode, Warzone.
Back at E3 2015, Halo 5 had a new multiplayer mode announced called Warzone. You’ll be dropped into a map with the standard red vs. blue teams but throughout the match, forerunner and covenant enemy types will spawn in and will attack both teams and make it an all out war of chaos!
In Warzone, you’ll be able to have custom weapons, some of these weapons will include a DMR with a silencer, an SMG with a long barrel, and even an AR with an energy bayonet! Yes, you read that right. The AR has an energy bayonet! These are all pre-order bonuses but they aren’t exclusive to pre-orders, you can earn them through REQ packs, which are reward packs that include weapons and armor. You can get REQ packs through microtransactions (proceeds go to the Halo Championship) or by earning them through just general progression. Pre-ordering just guarantees you these weapons on day one but it’s not hard to earn them.
This opens up some questions, will we be able to earn stronger weapons or attachments and build our own custom gun similar to the create a class system in Call of Duty? 343 is making interesting changes with Halo and only time will tell how successful they are with them.
Halo 5: Guardians releases October 27 and is the first main entry in the series to be rated T for Teen instead of M for Mature. This is mostly due to the ratings board cutting Halo a break for once. You can pre-order the game now at retail or on the Xbox One Store.
