Latest Lichdom: Battlemage patch fixes frame rate issues

Lichdom: Battlemage has had a hard life on Xbox One. Riddled with bugs and subpar frame rates, it was one of the worst performing games on the console. Maximum Games has finally released a new patch that we can confirm fixes these issues.

On Lichdom’s website, an admin detailed on May 25 how they were working on a patch to fix the game’s general performance issues. More specifically, the goal of the patch was to get Lichdom running at 30 FPS on consoles, an improvement from its original abysmal frame rate hovering around 20 FPS and sometimes dropping even lower.

We were not kind to Lichdom: Battlemage in our review, and much of that stems from how awful it ran. The Xbox One version of Lichdom was littered with technical problems that just couldn’t be ignored. Now over a month later, those issues have thankfully been fixed.

We have confirmed that the patch, which went live on June 6, fixes Lichdom’s frame rate issues and it is actually playable. Hard to believe for a game that once ran so poorly. Even though it has taken longer than most would have liked, it’s still great to know that hopefully players can find some enjoyment in the game now.
