RUMOR: New Xbox hardware might be coming soon

Sources close to Kotaku have shared that several pieces of Xbox hardware are on their way. The sources have shared that one model is coming later this year that is smaller and will more than likely contain a larger hard drive.

The biggest news from the leak is that an upgraded Xbox One, code named “Scorpio”, will launch next year. “Scorpio” will have an upgraded GPU capable of 4K resolution and the sources also share that Microsoft is working towards a partnership with Oculus and that “Scorpio” could have native support.

Another interesting part of the leak is the Xbox OS coming to PC. This would be part of “Project Helix”, Microsoft’s new strategy to unify the Xbox and Windows platform. This would be very interesting and its implementation can already be seen with several Xbox exclusives appearing on Windows 10.

As with any leak, take this with a grain of salt. E3 is only a couple of weeks away and we should learn more about the future of Xbox during Microsoft’s conference. What do you think about the rumors? Let us know in the comments below.
