Rockstar’s popular western epic, Red Dead Redemption, has done brilliantly in sales over the course of its life. The title recently managed to surpass 14 million copies shipped worldwide. This news came through the same filing that provided us with valuable information about the worldwide sales of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Red Dead Redemption was highly critically acclaimed when it launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010. It managed to earn top scores across the board and won multiple game of the year awards.
The game itself, which can be described an American western version of the Grand Theft Auto formula, has also become one of the most requested titles for the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility service according to recent statistics from the feedback site.
A sequel to this iconic game has often been discussed, although nothing concrete has been announced as of yet. Of course Rockstar know that the game is successful and fans demand a sequel. I think they are already working on a sequel in the background and want it to be a surprise announcement. Hopefully we will hear something about it soon.
Until then, keep up the good work Rockstar!
