Rocket League reaches 14 million players

Rocket League, the BAFTA winning sports game by developers Psyonix, has crossed yet another milestone. The ever-popular title has gone on to reach a total of fourteen million players, a jump up from the twelve million reported in February. This is a huge win for Psyonix but while fourteen million players is a massive number, the sales of the game stand at around four million.

The amount of players being such a huge increase over the amount of actual sales is not surprising. The player count for the game not only includes players who have experienced the game through game sharing (such as the Home Xbox technique) but any account who has played the game through split-screen over all three platforms. The sales data also does not count towards users who picked up the game back when it was free on PlayStation during its original launch.

Rocket League is a fantastic experience on all platforms and the constant flow of updates to the game are providing an even better experience. Next month, Rocket League players will be able to play a new basketball equivalent of Rocket League in a game mode called Hoops in the next update this month. Click here to read our review.
