Ubisoft recently revealed statistics for The Crew and according to the publisher 5 million players have experienced the game. To be honest I think this number is quite low but given how mediocre it was at launch in terms of graphics and handling, it makes sense. I bet when the Wild Run expansion came out that’s when a lot of gamers bought the title. I’m also willing to bet the number will jump up considerably when The Crew becomes a free Games with Gold next month. Even a small title like Knight Squad was able to generate more than 1 million downloads, imagine what a coveted game like The Crew will amount to.
I think I’ve rambled on long enough at this point. To celebrate this milestone, the developers are giving players a lot of free credits. So be sure to play the game and pick them up. You will get 50,000 credits on May 28 just by logging in so be sure to mark this down on your calendars. It’s a shame this promotion isn’t valid when the game will become free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers but you can’t have it all, right?
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, do you like The Crew? I think the Wild Run expansion (even the base game Wild Run update), drastically changed the experience for the better. It’s one of my most favorite racing games ever. I was disappointed with Need for Speed Rivals but The Crew definitely makes up for that. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
