The Division lets you change settings to improve frame rate on Xbox One

A developer working on The Division has stated that players will be able to change visual settings to improve frame rates on consoles. PC gamers are used to being able to change various visual settings on their games to improve the graphics. This is normally something that console gamers have lived without. Ubisoft wants to change that with The Division.

As part of a Team Epiphany preview, the developer said “You can disable certain lighting aspects to improve frame rates in the console versions.”

He went on to say that he doesn’t know of any other game on consoles that freely lets the player choose frame rate over visuals.

We already know that The Division runs at 1080p on Xbox One, so I wonder what changes the frame rate will see if players utilize the options in its visuals settings. Some players may be willing to let the visuals take a hit for improved frame rate while others may not, depending on how noticeable the changes are.

The Division is launching on March 8th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
