Studio Wildcard has just released the new 733.0 patch for the Xbox One version of Ark: Survival Evolved. As well as increasing the game’s disappointing performance problems by approximately ten percent, the new patch interestingly adds PC-like console commands as well as a myriad of new features.
Admins of a dedicated server may now grant other players with admin rights which will allow them to use console commands; much like the PC version. Any user who is granted admin rights whether in single player or multiplayer may input commands via the pause menu.
All content from the current PC build of Ark is now in the console version, introducing multiple new environments. The Snow Caves biome will require players to wear fur armour or a suitable equivalent to brave the extreme cold as well as be extremely prepared for the higher level Yeti’s which are extremely dangerous. The freezing temperatures are so extreme that even water will inflict damage and the deeper you venture, the colder it becomes.
There is also a new Swamp Cave which in which players will have to don scuba gear or Ghillie suits for Primitive server types. Both of these caves will house mysterious artifacts for players to collect which will grant a bonus to your character’s stats.
Extinction servers have now been added. These servers will reset every month following a huge meteor which will destroy everything. The goal for this new server type is to see how far players will be able to get within a single month before destroying everything they hold dear. These new servers will also have an in-game countdown so players know how far away they are from planetary annihilation.
Three new creatures have also been thrown into the mix including a new Woolly Mammoth, Eurypterids that skulk along the ocean floor and the completely armoured Dunkleosteus, also found underwater.
Included with these new additions are a slightly improved framerate, improving the “rendering and CPU” by ten percent, fixing the spyglass not working in split-screen, timer value fix, mammoth colorization fixed, adding a leave tribe confirmation screen and allowing players to teleport above ground if they get caught under the map.
