Massive Ark: Survival Evolved update brings Halloween event and new mods

Studio Wildcard have announced their popular dinosaur-survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved, will be receiving a Halloween event on Xbox One and PC.

Update 744.0 will be targeting an October 28th release date for Xbox One owners to allow them to play the horror-focused event. The event will let you collect new items, fight a new DodoWyvern (in the Scorched Earth expansion pack) as well as Vampire Bats and Rabid Dire Wolves, gain super sight, speed, strength and gliding thanks to the ability to turn into either a Vampire or a Werewolf.

744.0 will also bring users 130 discoverable treasure chests in both The Island and Scorched Earth which will provide players with and XP buff for both their character and the animal they are riding at the time. Players will also be able to wield weapons whilst riding on Xbox One for the first time which will be useful when fighting the new creatures such as the alligator style Kaprosuchus dinosaur, the Chalicotherium—which can dig underground and fling boulders at the player, the Diplodocus—which can also be used as SCUBA gear.

The 744.0 patch will also bring with it the option to play PrimitivePlus 1.3, a total conversion mod for the game which adds new game mechanics, custom items, and Engrams. The mod challenges players by focusing the crafting on wood and stone instead of advanced metals, hence the name PrimitivePlus.
