Another Assassin’s Creed Origins screenshot was leaked by an alleged Ubisoft employee

The alleged return to Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, titled either Empire or Origins according to various leaks, may have its first official game image. . . if a Reddit post is to be believed.

Allegedly being worked on by the leads from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag as well as “most of the AC4 team,” the image highlights the return of ships—although this one does show a boat, not a ship. This new screenshot also shows a resemblance to a previously leaked screenshot with both incarnations of the protagonist donning the same shield.

According to the same—now deleted—Redditor, the game will have “smaller segments that take place in different times; the setting is the same though.” This new screen does show evidence of the game remaining in the heavily rumoured Egyptian setting with one of the objectives listed saying, “Follow Shadya to Khenut’s Villa.” During the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdo, Khenut was an Egyptian Queen and wife to King Unas. The Fifth Dynasty took place approximately between 2494 to 2345 BC, giving us a decent timeframe for the time-jumping storyline to take place in.
