Badland: Game of the Year Edition coming to Xbox One on May 29

Frogmind just announced that their physics-based side-scrolling adventure, Badland: Game of the Year Edition, will land on Xbox One later this month. The title will release on May 29, 2015 digitally. The Game of the Year Edition brings a lot of additional content, including local multiplayer modes and many new achievements.

Badland originally released as a mobile game two years ago and garnered critical acclaim due to its visuals and controls. The Game of the Year Edition features redesigned controls, upgraded visuals and revamped levels to take advantage of consoles.

You play as a dark, ball-shaped organism called Clony. As Cloney, you explore a forest filled with traps, puzzles and obstacles to overcome. There are even power-ups to utilize. For example, the cloning power-up enables you to control dozens of little copies all at once.

Badland promises 15 hours of gameplay across 100 single-player levels. There are also 100 co-op and 27 local multiplayer stages for up to 4 players. Frogmind didn’t reveal the cost but we expect it to be priced similarly to other indie games on the Xbox Store. I played Badland on mobile devices and loved it. I’m curious to see how the controls work on the Xbox One.
