While Battlefield is widely renowned for its humongous modern-day and near-future titles, Battlefield 1942 did the same on the original Xbox and PC back in 2002 only in a World War II setting. Fans of the Battlefield 1940s series have been waiting for a sequel since online-only Battlefield 1943 in 2009. Well, an alleged sequel is on the way and its coming March 2017 if an image is to be believed.
A post on Reddit by user TwistedHorseman leaked an image of a presentation claiming that Battlefield 1944 will be releasing March 2017 for PC and console with a beta arriving this November. The presentation also claims that preordering will get you a “Nostalgic Map Pack including Back to Al Alamein and more fan favourites” as well as an exclusive skin.
However, another Reddit user decided to test the image in Photoshop to see how real the leak actually was. The result that they gave us was that the image very well could be photoshopped. The screen, which looks like a projector sheet, shows a giant Samsung logo leading us to believe that it is actually a computer monitor. As well as this, the screen exhibits waves along its surface much like an HD monitor does when captured in video or photographs. Take this leak with a grain of salt until we have official confirmation from EA.
