A new console is being manufactured in China by Tencent. Announced as the Tencent Games Platform Box, it will be released by Riot Games as the Blade BOX.
The console is set to be a competitor to the Steam Box and will have Windows 10 as its operating system. In TGP Box Mode, users will have a friendly launcher for Tencent services and games. The console has several traditional features we have come to expect from a console, but it will have some smart features build in courtesy of Intel that are designed to set it apart from the traditional console. The controller bears a striking resemblance to the Xbox One controller.
This is just one of the many new consoles being introduced by Chinese manufacturers. Only time will tell if their ventures into the console space will be fruitful and it will be interesting to watch everything unfold.
