Every little piece of information we learn about video games can’t be classified as a story in itself. While we’d love to talk more about everything, the fact is that resources don’t permit us to discuss titles beyond ones we feel will resonate with our readers. Keeping that in mind, the stories still deserve attention so we’ve invented the daily briefing to get you up to speed.
Adr1ft
Adr1ft was supposed to come to Xbox One but the project was cancelled after the game failed to live up to expectations on Steam and PlayStation 4. Today, the developers announced they were closing down.
Backward Compatibility
Phil Spencer says backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games may come to Windows 10 if they’re able to support multiple hardware configurations for varying gaming machines one day.
Gwent
With its control and espionage oriented playstyle, Nilfgaard equips players with gameplay mechanics that allow for revealing cards in the opponent’s hand, controlling the order of cards in player decks, and use of disloyal units, among others. The update expands the number of cards available in the game by over sixty—new additions also include faction-specific cards for Northern Realms, Scoia’tael, Skellige and Monsters, as well as neutral cards usable by every faction.
Killer Instinct
The first batch of Ultimates is coming to Killer Instinct on February 14. Available as a free download from the Xbox Store, five characters will receive Ultimates including Maya, Chief Thunder, T.J. Combo, and Tusk.
Microsoft
Lauran, better know as The Albion Girl, who used to work at Lionhead, is back at Microsoft. She accepted the position of a community manager and will be working with Phil Spencer and the team again. We thought we’d mention this because we’re really happy about it!

Mutant Football League has been funded on Kickstarter and now is going for its stretch goals.
Prey
Dark Horse Comics and Bethesda will team up to publish The Art of Prey. It includes gorgeous images and other concept art related to development.
Sales
It looks like Resident Evil 7 topped the charts in the United Kingdom again.
Tekken 7
Tekken 7 is getting fighting sticks by Hori.
Xbox One
The latest Xbox One Preview update brought surround sound support to headphones.
