Electronic Arts recently held its ‘financial conference call’ looking for investors on the second fiscal quarter of next year.
During that meet Electronic Arts then went on to announce that the EA Access service on Xbox One is being considered huge a success by the company.
The news came in the form of the following statements ;
“We’re seeing both empyrical and anecdotal data that people that are now members of EA access, have access to games like FIFA and Madden, which says that ordinarily they wouldn’t have gone out and bought them, are now experiencing them and enjoying them and I believe that the next time around when the games will launch they will actually buy them.
It’s turning into an incredible sampling program for us, if you will. Obviously the value for many users is there.”
Personally I think it is great that so many gamers are now trying out other titles. I, for one, was never a huge fan of Madden and had lost interest in the Need for Speed franchise. However this sort of ‘access’ was enough to tempt me to download both these titles.
The value I have had from this is tremendous and I hope other publishers can follow in their foot steps. Only time will tell if these type of services are appealing enough for us the consumers in the long term.
Have you tried out EA access yet, or are you waiting for some more enticing titles? Let us know in the comments below, or as always hit the forums.
