Star Wars: Republic Commando sequel may have leaked ahead of reveal

Recently on Reddit, a user came on to the Star Wars leaks subreddit and claimed to be involved with a Star Wars: Republic Commando sequel titled Star Wars: Imperial Commando. The anonymous user claim that they’re working on an alternate reality game that will lead up to the reveal of the Star Wars FPS at E3 2016. The user also released some screenshots from a website that feature a countdown to E3 and the logo for the game on the site.

The user also mentions the game will boast the new Frostbite Engine 4, a lengthy 20+ hour campaign, and a Call of Duty-esque multiplayer mode. Here are some more in-depth details from the Reddit posts:

“Release will be November 2017.
It will be released for Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4, Nintendo NX and PC.
No surprise: The engine will be FrostBite. SW:IC will use FrostBite 4.
Main focus will be on the campaign, but it will have an multiplayer. CoD like (small maps, fast paced, etc)
The biggest feature: Coop! SW:IC will deliver the best experience when played by 4 players!
Each player has unique gadgets and features. The leader (RC-1138) can give orders to the others.
The HUD and the helmet-view will even be more important than in Republic Commando.
There will be vehicles, only in some few parts of the game (Halo-like).
Environment will mostly be destructible and take effect on the world (Shoot some glass in space= everything will get soaked out)
Since its mostly an storydriven game, it will have a fuckin huge campaign and a lot of planets of the universe (+20hours).
There will be an app, that can be used as second screen (like the fallout 4 pippoy) for gadgets/weapons/radar”

Now, since this comes from Reddit and there isn’t a ton of credibility, here are some things that could possibly shut this rumor down. For one, EA’s presser will be June 12th and countdown for the website ends on the 15th. It would be strange for them to end the countdown 3 days after the reveal. Another thing, why would the creator of the ARG literally spoil ARG part for you? Seems like a waste of time and effort on the creators part.

The user says the countdown site will go live in early February, so we will know sometime within the month if this whole leak is real or not.

EA recently released Star Wars: Battlefront in November 2015 and has plans to release an RPG developed by Visceral. We will update this article as we find out more information.
