During their annual Investor’s Day, EA pitched the idea of a social network for gamers or something of that nature. EA is titling the program “The EA Player Network”. It’s sort of unclear what EA is pitching exactly for this but they want to allow players to “connect to their EA games” and friends no matter what platform you are on. The program will also allow players to carry saves across platforms via the cloud.
The way it’s worded would make it sound EA is trying to build some sort of system that would allow players to play cross-platform, Xbox could play with PS4 players and vice versa. But, it was never explicitly said that this was the idea. We will more than likely hear more about this program at their E3 conference on June 10th.
