Elder Scrolls Online closed beta hits Xbox One on April 23

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is launching as a closed beta on April 23. The beta will be available on Xbox One tomorrow and Bethesda began sending invitations this morning. The beta will run for 96 hours, going from 10 AM EDT on Thursday, April 23, to 10 AM EDT on Monday, April 27.

Bethesda said that although the Tamriel Unlimited beta is closed, there is no restriction on players sharing images or video from it. The beta client is the full console version of the game and is a download exceeding 50 gigabytes. There is also a 15 gigabyte patch which delivers the remainder of the game. This 65 gigabytes is the biggest game ever on Xbox One, with Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming in a close second at 61.6 gigabytes. With the addition of Halo 3: ODST next month, I’m sure Halo will regain the top spot again.

Tamriel Unlimited costs $59.99 and is a one-time purchase that provides full access to the entire game and any future updates. No subscription is required, although Bethesda offers a $14.99 special monthly membership which provides exclusive bonus content and access to all paid add-ons and a package of in-game currency. We can’t wait to finally try it out tomorrow.
