Fable Legends, the free-to-play RPG that Lionhead Studios was working on before the studio started to close may not be dead just yet. According to MCV, sources at Lionhead have said that the staff that is still under contract are currently being surveyed on if they would like to continue working on the game or take the redundancy package and leave at the end of April. One of the sources said that this connects with a proposal by the employees asking if they could continue work on the game at a new independent studio but the other sources were unable to confirm. When asked a Microsoft spokesperson commented that they aren’t currently sharing additional details besides that they have ceased development on Fable Legends and that they are in talks with the employees of Lionhead.
I had mixed feelings about the game personally but I think if it’s true that it is great that Microsoft is working with the employees to make sure they do have options and opportunities for the future.
