Update 3: Those who downloaded Fallout 4 and had their licenses revoked with get $10 from Microsoft as compensation.
Update 2: Fallout 4 is back to its normal price. Xbox Support now claims that it was free as part of an “unannounced limited time free-to-play event” and licenses will be revoked in due time. This basically absolves them of all legal responsibility because the “free” offer was only for a “limited time” to try out the game. Additionally, no one will get banned for downloading the game.
Update 1: Xbox Support said it’s a promotion and all gamers can get it for free. Whatever the real reason might be for the game being available for free, at least Microsoft support representatives says it’s part of a promotion. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.
Fallout 4 is available for free on Xbox One right now. I don’t know if this is some sort of flash promotion in honor of E3 or a glitch. Either ways, it’s awesome and I’m downloading it right now.
