In June 2015, the long-rumored Fallout 4 was officially announced with tons of new screenshots, gameplay and even a November 10 release date. Now the long awaited game is finally almost in our hands and Bethesda has shared some details about what we can expect after the launch of the holy game that is Fallout 4.
After the release of Fallout 4 on November 10, I’m sure the hardworking folks at Bethesda will be taking a long well-deserved vacation, but once they return they will begin working on add-ons and regular updates for the title. Bethesda has shared, “We’ll be doing regular free updates to the game, and like Skyrim, these will come with not just fixes, but new features.” Hopefully this means we won’t be charged $5 for being able to build houses that don’t do much for the game (cough cough Skyrim). Bethesda also added they’ll be listening to the community to see what features they want added in these updates.
At Microsoft’s E3 2015 press briefing, Bethesda announced mod support for Fallout 4 on Xbox One. This is a huge deal that hasn’t been truly implemented in a console game before and opens up endless possibilities for the game! They gave more details as to when this will be available, “Early next year we’ll release for free the new Creation Kit for the PC. This is the same tool we use in the studio.” This means people will be able to create anything a developer for Fallout could create! This is very exciting and the feature console debut on Xbox One first.
Lastly, Bethesda is known for creating massive add-ons for their games and Fallout 4 will be no exception. “We’ll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30.” Bethesda stated they aren’t quite sure what the DLC will be yet as they’re still putting the finishing touches on Fallout 4, but they said the content will be worth over $40 and if they decide to do even more content beyond that it’ll be included in the season pass.
We are only two months away from Fallout 4 and we are all eager to get our hands on the game! What would you like to see in a DLC or update for Fallout 4? What mods are you excited to see players create? Let us know on Twitter or in the comments below!
