It was revealed during a livestream today by Microsoft representatives that Gears of War 4 may launch sooner than expected. Microsoft originally said that the expected release date was for “holiday 2016,” but now it looks like it will be launching sometime during the fall.
There was no specific date mentioned, but this is great news for any fans of the series.
It was also mentioned that 45 percent of Ultimate Edition players are new to the Gears of War franchise. These are all potential buyers for the next game, so seeing a rise in the number of fans is good news for Microsoft.
If you can’t wait until the fall to play it, you can tide yourself over with the Gears of War 4 beta which is set to arrive this spring.
Gears of War 4 will be launching in the fall as an Xbox One exclusive.
