Gears of War remaster release date and features leak

The official Gears of War Russian site has accidentally leaked a full list of features for the Gears of War remake on Xbox One. The game website details what content will be in the package, and new features exclusive to the Xbox One version.

Gears of War will be remade for Xbox One with new content exclusive to the release. The game will ship with new achievements, and a total Gamerscore of 1250G available. The game will have all content from the PC version, and a re-vamped multiplayer mode, running at 60 frames a second, with dedicated servers. It also appears skill-based matchmaking will be implemented. The title is set to be available August 25th 2015.

The site can be viewed here.

The site uses a Gears of War 3 image, but its most likely a placeholder. Below is the full list directly translated from the website. The translation is in broken English, however is mostly self-explanatory.

Here are the details listed on the page:

  • Adapted for Dolby 7.1 Surround
  • 90 minutes of new content for the campaign mode of the original game for the PC
  • New achievements in Xbox LIVE (player account 1250)
  • Gallery sketches and comics available to unlock
  • Streamlined multiplayer mode:
    • 60 frames per second
    • Dedicated servers
    • Selection of players for skills
    • New types of games, “Team Fight”, “King of the Hill” (in the style of Gears of War 3) and the new 2 2 Destruction “Gnasherom.”
  • 19 cards, including downloadable content and exclusive cards from the PC version
  • The ability to gain access to the 17 characters of Gears of War 3 multiplayer games
  • New features match the settings, including the choice of parameters of the active charge, renewal, revival and the emergence of an independent arms.
  • Streamlined gameplay more fluid movements and updated management system:
    • Alternative control system and a brand new control scheme tournament
    • All the control parameters are adapted for the Xbox One
    • Added features from your favorite Gears of Wars 3: Marking enemy targets, the use of the device in a multiplayer game, improved sensitivity setting.

These features are most likely true, as they are described in great depth, and have been posted directly to the official Gears of War site. The features are similar to what we have received for other first party titles, such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection. We will most likely hear more about the Gears of War release at the Microsoft Press Conference tomorrow.
