If you’re willing to jump through some hoops, you can play Dark Souls 3 right now! Thanks to a glitch on Xbox Live, players have found a way to download an early English version of Dark Souls 3. If you follow the steps below, you’ll be on your way to screaming and raging at the ultra challenging RPG. Please keep in mind, Xbox Live is working on a fix for this right now and will solve this error soon. So, spend your money at your own risk.
First, you’ll need to buy some Japanese Xbox currency (Over 7,000 yen). Doesn’t matter where you get it, but your best place to get it is through Amazon Japan. Fill out all your billing information as normal or write a random address. Of course, some of these websites will probably be presented in Japanese so you may need to install a browser extension.
Once you have your code you’ll need to change your region to Japan at the bottom of the Xbox site. Then, redeem it by going here. Log in and click this piece of text “ご利用コードを使う”.
Now it’s time to buy the game! Change your location and language to Japan in the Xbox One console settings. Save the settings and reboot. Get back on to your Xbox, go to the store page, find and click Dark Souls 3. The checkout menu will appear and you will need to click the drop down menu and find the option with the Yen currency. Once you have that, you may buy the game.
Now it’s time to switch the game to an English version. Go to the “My Games and Apps” section and stop the Dark Souls 3 download. Close the download, switch your settings back to English and resume the download. You now own an English version of Dark Souls 3 almost three weeks early!
In case you aren’t willing to take the risk (no one blames you), Dark Souls 3 releases April 12th on Xbox One and PC.
