Halo 5 garners highest monthly player count since Halo 3

Update: During a panel at RTX 2016, 343 Industries revealed the official player count of Halo 5. It now numbers over 16.5 million gamers. Please note that this figure only represents the gamers who have played Forge. I’m sure there are some who haven’t even touched Forge but there can’t be that many because it’s one of the best parts of the game.

Halo 5: Guardians is widely known as Xbox One’s biggest exclusive game and with343’s recent free play week even more people have been able to play this fantastic product. A 343 employee has commented on the official Halo subreddit that “Halo 5 has had the highest monthly active players for a Halo title since Halo 3.”

This means that Halo 5 has beaten out Halo Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection in this regard which is quite the feat. Bravo343 has also claimed that this record was set “before the free play period”. The game has also been seeing an increase in player count over the past few months, including the numbers for June.

Halo 5: Guardians is a fantastic title with some of the most phenomenal multiplayer on current generation consoles. As a Halo fan and a gaming fan in general, I love seeing this game succeed month after month and if you have yet to pick up Halo 5 on Xbox One it is currently 50% in the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale.
