The Sprint is a series produced by 343 Industries that documents the development of Halo 5. Today however, they revealed more details about what’s to come. We all know Halo 6 will be a radical departure in terms of story but we didn’t know how much of a change it will be until now.
Speaking in an interview, Frank O’Conner and his associate revealed that Halo 6 would feature Master Chief in a new role. Beforehand the leadership of the UNSC dictated how certain problems were handled. From now on, Master Chief will have to devise a plan and execute a solution. It’s not going to be about being told where to go and what to do, he’ll have to figure it out for himself. This is a position of a leader, not a follower. Humanity and even the UNSC will look to him for guidance in these oppressive times.
It was also clear that the game will center around some sort of rebellion against the Guardians and their leader. I won’t name who just in case some people haven’t played the game. Freedom and the ability to choose how to live, no matter if that leads to conflict, will play a major role in the the philosophical aspects of the title. This all sounds really exciting and I can’t wait to hear more.
