Friday the 13th game revealed with Kickstarter campaign

Today, Gun Media has announced they will be bringing the horrifying Jason Vorhees to your Xbox One or PC, but they will need your help!

Gun Media has launched a Kickstarter today for Friday The 13th: The Game with a goal of $700,000. The game is set to be a 1V7 multiplayer only game with one player being the menacing Jason, and the rest play as defenseless, drunk, horny teenagers visiting the haunting Camp Crystal Lake.

The team of camp counselors will have to work together to survive the night and take down Jason, who will be stalking and brutally murdering any chance he gets.

The team had already been working on Slasher Vol.1: Summer Camp when horror icon Sean Cunningham reached out to the team and asked them if they would like to make a Friday the 13th game, the team obviously said yes and gained rights to the popular IP and got to work on Friday the 13th.

Once they got the IP they took the opportunity to use Kane Hodder, actor for Jason Vorhees in the films, who was already working on Slasher Vol.1 and got him to do mocap for Jason making this the first time Kane has played the character in 14 years!

The team clearly shows how passionate they are about this game on their Kickstarter. They have a great team, great ideas and they even got the mastermind behind the film franchise and Jason himself! If this game gets the funding it needs, it could be phenomenal!

The game also has lots of rewards for backers that range from access to updates from the developers, a copy of the game, exclusive content when the game releases and even the ability to create your own camp counselor with their own abilities!

The team has some stretch goals set aside as well in case the game exceeds its $700,000 goal. They haven’t revealed what the stretch goals are yet, but I’m sure they have some great plans if they go beyond their goal!
