Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation– best known for hit movies such as “The Hunger Games” series, and “Twilight Saga” (I said “hit movies, not “good,” Twilight!)– have announced a new investment in publisher Telltale Games — best known for their story driven episodic adventure games “The Walking Dead” and “Tales From the Borderlands.”
This collaboration will enable both companies to co-develop “premium content” along with existing and original IP into episodic games and TV.
“Telltale is one of the premier storytellers in the gaming world today,” said Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer within the press release. “Their leadership in narrative-driven episodic games, together with our investment and the potential opportunities created by our premium content expertise, will continue to strengthen their ability to offer exciting new avenues of storytelling to their next generation audiences across a broad range of platforms.”
This partnership is said to bolster Lionsgate towards a broader more interactive venture.
