Microsoft Greenshoots program bringing many games to Xbox One

Creative England and Microsoft have teamed up once again to bring independent games to Xbox One with the Greenshoots Programme which allows developers to publish their game through the ID@Xbox service as well as being given £50,000 to work on their project. This partnership is bringing numerous games to the Xbox platform, some of which are listed below.

The Other 99:

Recently delayed to August, The Other 99 is a survival horror title where you wake up on the desolated Hebridian Island with nothing but a single note, instructing you to find The Other 99 in order to find your way off the island.

As said in the Steam description, the game gives you a choice between “brutally murder” or stealth gameplay, which still involves murder. “Just remember each person is unique and has their own story to tell and their own pieces of the jigsaw that makes up The Other 99”.

Q.U.B.E 2:

A sequel to the 2011 first-person puzzle game, which received a Director’s Cut in 2014, Q.U.B.E 2 will allow players to return to the mind-bending world of CUBE as you desperately try to figure out each puzzle the game throws at you. There is no release date as of yet.

Off Grid:

Off Grid is an “adventure, satire and stealth game” focusing on an antihero protagonist. The game supposedly uses real hacking mechanics which also follows real-world events “surrounding data privacy”. The gameplay allows the player to not only manipulate the game world but also the people inside it.

Vantage Point:

Originally created for a Game Jam, Vantage Point is a cooperative game in which one player plays as the infiltrator whilst a group of navigators try to get the infiltrator through a secret facility. This involves looking at maps and cameras all whilst trying to guide the infiltrator at the same time. Check out the Windows PC version.

The Last Word:

The Last Word, created by Intel Buzz and Game Connection, is a game in which you need to drag and drop various words and photos from the diary of a little girl in order to make platforms to progress through the game. Already an award-winning title, The Last Word is obviously going to tug at some heartstrings before you’re done with it.

Fugitive:

Coming from primarily mobile developers Fallen Tree, Fugitive is a stealth game from a top-down perspective. Currently aiming for a 2017 release date, there is still not much information about the game at all. The developers have, however, called Fugitive their “ dream project ” and are hopefully planning something special for this game.
