What is your gamertag and the reason for choosing it?
Ah Dragonps…well my grandmother was a rather straightforward, old-fashioned sort of person and people always called her “the dragon”. Since I spent so much of my youth living with her, she nicknamed me her little dragon. Add to this my Bruce Lee obsession and it was the clear choice for my gamertag.
What is your favorite genre and why?
Always was and always will be fighting games! I grew up watching Hong Kong action movies and trained in freestyle Karate and Taekwondo when I was younger. The complexity of battle between two masters always fascinated me. Fighting games allow you to feel that adrenaline rush of battle without the fear of broken bones…but maybe still broken pride.
What is your favorite game so far?
It has to be Neverwinter! It’s been a few years since I’ve sat down and constantly played a game well into the night. It offers everything an RPG fan like myself could wish for with all the complicated stats and systems. Also, I love the D&D lore and series in general and Neverwinter is the best representation of it I’ve played.
What is your most memorable gaming moment?
I would have been around the age of 7 and had just got my hands on Wizards and Warriors 2. I played it non-stop for what seemed like forever but I finally got to end with the bosses floating around. I was the only one in the family who had got that far and they were all sitting around me silently. I’ll never forget that moment when the last boss was defeated, I screamed at the top of my lungs. Of course by this point everyone had got bored and disappeared!
Which achievement has been the most frustrating to obtain? How long did it take you?
Any of those “complete the game and unlock everything and complete it a 1000 times more” achievements comes to mind. I remember getting the last achievement on Dynasty Warriors Empires 6 took me at least 3 weeks of constant playing and grinding.
What is your gaming guilty pleasure?
It would have to be those awful Bruce Lee games they made over they years.Yes they are terrible but I love my Brucey baby.
If you could pick a video game character, who would you be and why?
Tricky one but I’m going to say Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect series. Since I’m a huge follower of astronomy it would be such an amazing feeling to see the universe and explore different planets. Plus gorgeous blue aliens!
If you could pick a location from any game to visit, where would it be and why?
Probably the Minecraft world since it would be so easy to manipulate your surroundings. It would mean that I could live rent free and make my own food and I’d only need the most basic of tools.
Finally, where do you see gaming heading in the next decade?
I think discs will be dead! Gaming is going digital and you’re going to see plenty of incentives from companies to buy your game in this way. HoloLens offers a glimpse of the future which I think will be full holographic projection.
