Metal Gear Rising backward compatibility up to Konami

Metal Gear Rising: Revengence was one of the best—and weirdly titled—game of the last generation with Platinum Games not only making Raiden a character we didn’t want to chuck off a bridge but also delivering a fun and frankly crazy experience.

Many fans are probably wondering whether Metal Gear Rising would be making its way over to Xbox One through the backward compatibility feature, especially since the game currently holds over 12,000 votes on the backward compatibility voting list standing just below Forza Motorsport 3 and above Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

In an interview with Windows Central, Jean Pierre Kellams of Metal Gear Rising developer Platinum Games said, “Totally up to Konami. Personally, I loved Metal Gear Rising, it was so cool to see my name in the credits of a Metal Gear game. So, if it’s backward compatible? I think that would be awesome.”

With all the recent controversy around Konami as a whole—especially when it comes to the Metal Gear Franchise—it may be a bit of a stretch to see Metal Gear Rising on backward compatibility but we can all hope that they bring one of Platinum’s greatest games to Xbox One.
