You might be able to unlock Metal Gear Solid 5’s secret chapter soon

Metal Gear Solid V is a weird game. There are cassette tapes about Kaz Miller making the perfect hamburger that is probably over twenty minutes long in total, you can make your horse defecate on command and there are a ton of Moby Dick references that don’t make a lot of sense. To make matters even weirder, you may not have actually finished the game even if you got 100% completion.

Metal Gear Solid V released only a month ago and people have already dug through files to find unused assets and other weird things. Among the many things people found was a black screen that says “CHAPTER 3: PEACE”

For those who don’t know, there are only two “chapters” in the game and the game ends in an abrupt way and feels incomplete and might actually be incomplete…or is it?

A user named Daley from FraggedNation reached out to someone from Konami and asked them about the mysterious Chapter 3

Daley: “So, what is the verdict on Chapter 3? Is it in the game or are we stretching?”

Konami employee: “What I will say is that the game is deeper than what people are giving it credit for. Jumping to premature conclusions based on assets hacked out of the game is unfair and sells the game short. Just keep playing.”

So, what the hell does this mean? Is this going to turn into another Mount Chilliad GTA V conspiracy theory where we are searching for two years for something that may not actually be there? Will we get closure for MGS V? And most importantly, how long is it going to take for us to find out whatever is hidden in the game? Who the hell knows.

Metal Gear Online will be released this Tuesday as a free update for Metal Gear Solid V owners, and may possibly hold new clues as to how to unlock whatever Konami is hiding from us.

The official Metal Gear Solid Twitter account also tweeted out a vague statement saying to keep a close eye on the Metal Gear Online Twitter. If anything significant comes up, we will update this article.
